Sandblasting & Abrasive Blasting in Hallam

Hallam is about thirty minutes south-east of our Bayswater workshop, on the far side of the Dandenong industrial belt. All work is completed in house at 46 Malvern Street, so a Hallam job depends on getting the item to us — on your own truck, through your own carrier, or with transport we arrange at additional cost. We then garnet or glass bead blast it and can apply a protective coating system on the same site.

Logistics

Getting your items to us from Hallam

The practical route is the Princes Highway or the Hallam bypass area onto EastLink and north to the Boronia Road exit, about half an hour outside peak. Hallam's estates are well set up for trucks, so getting an item loaded at your end is usually the easy part of the exercise.

Because Hallam is home to a lot of transport and trailer-related businesses, many customers there are already moving vehicles and equipment around the south-east daily. Fitting a Bayswater delivery into an existing run is generally the cheapest way to handle it. Where that is not possible we can arrange the transport, and it is quoted per job based on the size, weight and lifting requirements rather than at a flat rate.

Run it up on your own truck

Hallam operators often already have suitable vehicles. Half an hour each way via EastLink, and we have forklifts and cranes here to take the item off at our end.

We organise transport at additional cost

Quoted per job. Useful for trailers, tanks or frames where the load needs particular handling, or where your fleet is committed elsewhere.

All blasting and coating is carried out in house at our Bayswater workshop. We do not offer mobile or on-site blasting, so items need to reach us one of the two ways above.

Local Customers

Who we typically help in Hallam

Hallam's industrial estates lean towards transport, trailer and equipment operations, engineering support businesses and warehousing. The work that comes to us from Hallam frequently has a road-transport flavour: trailer components and chassis sections, tipper and tray bodies, tanks, toolboxes and mounting frames, plus the fabricated steel and equipment parts that engineering businesses in the estates produce or repair.

Transport-related steel has a particular problem to solve. It lives outdoors permanently, gets hit with stones, water and road salt films, and flexes in service — so the value of blasting is not cosmetic, it is about getting old, failing paint and rust completely off so the new system bonds to sound metal rather than to whatever was left behind. That is a job for garnet blasting followed by a coating system chosen for exposure and abrasion, and both steps happen here in the one building.

Materials-handling steel, racking components and heavy-duty fittings recoated after wear.

Services

Which services suit Hallam work

Garnet Abrasive Blasting

The right process for road-going steel from Hallam — it removes the rust, road film and failed paint that make recoating trailer and body steel unreliable otherwise.

About Garnet Abrasive Blasting

Protective Coatings

Transport steel needs a system chosen for permanent outdoor exposure and abrasion, applied in house directly after blasting.

About Protective Coatings

Glass Bead Abrasive Blasting

Used for the aluminium components common on trailers and truck bodies, where garnet would be too aggressive for the substrate.
