Sandblasting & Abrasive Blasting in Knoxfield

Knoxfield is about ten minutes south of our workshop, and its established industrial estate is one of the closest concentrations of manufacturing and warehousing to us. All blasting and coating is completed in house at 46 Malvern Street, Bayswater — we have no mobile service — so a Knoxfield job means either dropping the item off or having us arrange transport at additional cost. Garnet blasting, glass bead blasting and protective coating application all happen at that one site.

Logistics

Getting your items to us from Knoxfield

The run from Knoxfield is straightforward: north via Scoresby Road or Ferntree Gully Road and across to the Bayswater industrial pocket, generally about ten minutes. Because both ends of the trip are industrial estates with proper access, loading and unloading is rarely the complication it can be at a residential address.

Knoxfield businesses tend to already have forklifts and delivery vehicles on hand, which changes how jobs usually flow. Rather than a one-off car trip, we more often see a pallet or crate of parts arriving on a work vehicle, sometimes with a delivery docket listing the substrate and required finish for each group of items. That works well for us, and we have forklifts and cranes at our end for the heavier pieces.

Send it up on your own vehicle

Ten minutes north and you are here. If your site already runs a ute, truck or forklift, moving a palletised batch of components to us is usually the cheapest option and lets you set the timing yourself.

We can arrange the transport

For items beyond your own lifting or vehicle capacity we can organise transport both ways at additional cost. Over a distance this short the cost is driven mainly by the handling equipment needed at each end, not the travel.

All blasting and coating is carried out in house at our Bayswater workshop. We do not offer mobile or on-site blasting, so items need to reach us one of the two ways above.

Local Customers

Who we typically help in Knoxfield

Knoxfield's industrial estate is long established and skews towards manufacturing, distribution and warehousing rather than heavy process industry. The work that comes to us from there reflects that: production components and sub-assemblies needing a clean surface before coating, materials-handling equipment such as racking uprights, frames, cages and trolleys, plus plant and machinery parts that have been in service and need old coatings removed before they can be assessed or repaired.

Warehousing operations bring their own recurring items — steel racking components, pallet cages, dock hardware, guardrails and bollards all take a beating from forklift traffic and eventually need stripping and recoating rather than another coat over damaged paint. Because we can blast and then coat in the same building, those items are only handled once and are not left in a bare, freshly blasted state while transport is arranged.

Glass Bead Abrasive Blasting

Used where Knoxfield production work involves aluminium or stainless parts, or components that must be cleaned without changing the surface profile much.

Protective Coatings

Equipment that lives in a busy warehouse needs a coating chosen for impact and abrasion rather than appearance alone, and we apply those systems in house.
