Sandblasting & Abrasive Blasting in Mulgrave

Mulgrave is roughly twenty minutes south-west of our Bayswater workshop, on the far side of the Monash and Wellington Road corridors. All blasting and coating is completed in house at 46 Malvern Street — we do not blast at customer sites — so Mulgrave work reaches us either on your own transport or via a courier or truck we arrange at additional cost. Garnet blasting, glass bead blasting and protective coating application all happen at the one address.

Logistics

Getting your items to us from Mulgrave

The usual routes are Springvale Road or Stud Road north, or the Monash Freeway and EastLink to Boronia Road, generally around twenty minutes depending on the time of day. Mulgrave traffic around the freeway interchanges can be heavy in peak, so most customers time deliveries mid-morning or early afternoon.

At twenty minutes each way, sending items in consolidated loads makes a real difference for Mulgrave customers. Many of the businesses in the precinct already run regular freight, so adding a Bayswater drop to an existing run is often the neatest solution. If that is not available to you, we can organise the transport instead, and we have forklifts and cranes here for unloading heavier pieces.

Send it on your own or existing freight

Many Mulgrave sites already have trucks moving through the eastern suburbs. Adding a delivery to Malvern Street is usually cheaper than a dedicated courier, and lets you consolidate several items into one movement.

We arrange transport at additional cost

If you would rather not organise it, we can book transport to and from the workshop. For the larger fabricated items common in Mulgrave, this is often the practical option.

All blasting and coating is carried out in house at our Bayswater workshop. We do not offer mobile or on-site blasting, so items need to reach us one of the two ways above.

Local Customers

Who we typically help in Mulgrave

Mulgrave carries one of the larger industrial and business-park footprints in Melbourne's south-east, mixing manufacturing and warehousing with corporate and technical operations. The work we see from Mulgrave is generally more substantial than what comes from the smaller estates closer to us: fabricated frames and skids, tanks and vessels, machinery bases, processing and materials-handling equipment, and structural components from maintenance shutdowns.

Because those items are bigger, the reason for using us is usually capability rather than convenience. Our blast room takes large pieces, and we have forklifts and cranes for moving them, which means an item does not have to be cut down or blasted in sections. It also means the same site can blast the item to the required standard and then apply the specified coating system, so a large fabrication is not trucked between two suppliers with a bare blasted surface exposed in between.
